The cottage is reverse level with a stunning open plan living area on the first floor with a large lounge area with a sofa and two armchairs, dining table for up to six, and a very well equipped kitchen with a full range of appliances – dishwasher, washing machine, condensing tumble dryer, electric hob and fan oven, microwave and fridge.
The cottage has a high vaulted ceiling with white painted beams and is very cosy in the winter but also fantastic in the summer with double doors opening out onto a private patio. This is a real sun trap and sheltered from any westerly breeze and can be used all year round for sitting outside and ‘al fresco’ dining on a large teak table table and chairs. From a door downstairs in the cottage is access into the shared courtyard.
The main bedroom has a comfortable double bed and the second large bedroom has a kingsize bed and also a single bed. We can provide a cot, high chair and stair gate for those with a baby or young children. Both bedrooms have good quality duvets, bed linen and towels, a wardrobe and drawers for clothes. The family bathroom has a combined bath and shower
The cottage is located in the small South Hams village of Woodleigh, and whilst nestled in a peaceful rural part of the county, you will find yourselves perfectly located for exploring all the greatest bits of the South Hams and Devon. A number of beautiful beaches can be reached easily – including Bantham which is the nearest beach to this property, which has an amazing café in the Summer season, and facilities for hiring kayaks and paddle boards are easily available at Bantham or Bigbury, where you can arrange your surfing lessons as well!
The town of Kingsbridge is within easy reach where you will find your nearest supermarkets, and the town itself has many independent shops, alongside some really great pubs and restaurants. Slapton Sands, Torcross and the nature reserve at Slapton Ley are 12 miles away, and your almost directly between the beautiful chic coastal resorts of Dartmouth and Salcombe.
Within the town of Dartmouth you’ll find supermarkets, a cinema/ theatre, restaurants, pubs, cafes and numerous independent shops. For those of you wanting to spend a bit more time on the water, it’s possible to jump on a number of boats offering river and coastal cruises. You can even hire your own motorboat for the more adventurous, and head up River to Dittisham where you can enjoy a pint whilst sat on the pontoon!
The popular town of Salcombe can be reached by road within 25 minutes, where you will some fabulous restaurants and plenty of luxury nautical themed clothing stores, alongside many independent traders all with the most beautiful coastal scenery around every corner.
